Household cleansers rank high in the lists of toxic substances in most homes. That’s why I was so delighted to see that Clean: The Humble Art of Zen-Cleansing, by Michael de Jong, has received dozens of five-star rankings at Amazon. People comment that they keep the book handy. I’ve added this to my Amazon wishlist and will report in again sometime in the future on how I adopt its many  simple recipes for household cleaning. — Zana

    • This book is perfect!

Michael DeJong, with great humor and charm, has written the perfect primer on green cleaning. I bought this book when it was initally published and since then have bought over 25 copies to give as housewarming/hostess/ any occasion gifts!

My own original copy is dog-eared from use……….I find myself turning to the index in the front over and over again.

    • I run The Climate Project, an Al Gore training initiative which has already trained over 1300 people (1000 in the USA) to present, to a variety of audiences in their communities, a version of the Al Gore slide show on which the movie and book, “An Inconvenient Truth” is based. The author and his publisher of “Clean” generously donated 1000 books to The Climate Project for each of the trainees. All were delighted with this attractively designed, straightforward, practical guide book for how to clean ANYTHING using only natural, responsible, safe, non-commercial AND inexpensive products found in most homes. I think that every household should have one! This will change the way you clean and definitely save you money and make you feel good about it. A great buy!
