Why Buy Natural Toothpaste?
The word natural can have a variety of meanings… after all, poison oak isn’t man-made! Natural is a widely-used advertising word, where it may or may not mean anything. I was going to write about the most popular organic toothpastes, but when I went to compile the chart from the many bestselling toothpastes at Amazon, I found that so many of those toothpastes there contain chemical ingredients, that natural did have a useful meaning in this context. A number of these toothpastes may not call themselves organic but they seemed well worth including!
Half a Dozen Popular Toothpastes without Fluoride
Amazon updates its best-seller lists frequently. I compiled this chart by going to the list for toothpastes and hand-picking the the chemical-free ones I saw, in the order of their popularity. If I went back another time, the order could be different, but these all have a large number of favorable reviews.
Do note that Tom’s sells both fluoride-free toothpaste, like the one I linked to here, and also some others that contain fluoride. This may be true for some of these other brands as well.
Since I know nothing about children’s toothpastes, these are all for adults.

Dangers of Fluoride Toothpaste
I haven’t used a fluoride toothpaste in years, as I was long ago convinced that they are not that healthy. Here is an article that spells out why.
And here is a video where Dr. Chris Napoli discusses the dangers of fluoride in both toothpaste and drinking water:
Why I Chose Auromere Ayurvedic Toothpaste
I first came across this particular toothpaste, the mint-free one, at a time when I was taking a homeopathic treatment. Since mint and menthol can reduce the effectiveness of homeopathy, I got a tube of the one in the box below. It turned out that I really liked it and so I have stayed with it ever since. The company’s claim that each tube lasts about three times as long rings true in my experience. I’m happy with it. By the way, if you click through and see the price, it may seem high but it’s for four regular-sized tubes!
